That's probably the most your machine you can take. The motherboard that is. head over to http://www.crucial.com/ and use the memory scanner to see what the maximum amount your computer can have at one time. Other things like OS version might have something to do with it. But, if you are running XP 32-bit, I would not bother with XP-64. (also depends how old your machine is. (referring to weather you should upgrade the OS or not) I'd wait for Windows 7. It's going to wonderful. |

I'm a techie looking for other techies! I've run SETI@Home and Folding@Home for 15 years and build my own computers for this purpose. I'm also interested in Android OS. I run, on various machines, Windows XP, Vista, 7, Mac Snow Leopard, and Ubuntu. I'd really like to find someone who is familiar with the Linux command line. Kurt |

I guess you could call me a techie. Been using Unix for 25 years and Linux for 11 or 12. I've had my fingers in the physical design or design process for a few processors: powerpc, transmeta, Playstation 3, xbox 360, wii, nvidia, ... |
