As I said, this one's tough -- and surprising. You might have to look at a map.

Bonus if, after identifying the city I asked for, you can tell me the biggest population center east of that and north of the 49th parallel.

St Johns Newfoundland is approx 181,000 population. But you're right it is a couple of degrees south of 49. DRAT!

Ah, we have a winner, folks! Yes, believe it or not, the easternmost substantial Canadian population center north of the 49th parallel is Winnipeg, which is due north of central Minnesota. I think I could have made it 20,000 instead of 50,000 and still gotten the same answer. I think the biggest town east of Winnipeg and north of the 49th is Happy Valley / Gander, Newfoundland, with 7600 people. Although Canada is huge in land area -- second largest in the world -- over 95 percent of its population lives within 200 miles of the U.S. border, most of that within 100 miles, and more than 70 percent live south of the 49th parallel.

Alli, are you ready to challenge us with a new category?

BTW, it makes sense that there would be a Canadian edition of Trivial Pursuit -- wasn't the game invented in Canada?
