A rather astounding book was published in 1964, with an re-edited issue in 1966 by the Science Editor for the New York Times. He was Walter Sullivan, the name of this book, the sixth one, was entitled 'We Are Not Alone" One of the many reviewers, Robert C. Cowan of the Christian Science Monitor said of it :" A mind-stretching book, a challenge to earth-centered thinking...the book is a magnificent reporting job." It still holds up today.
Walter Sullivan also wrote: "The Search For Intelligent Life On Other Worlds" in dealing with this topic. It is worth it to have it as not only an excellent reference on this topic, but also as a reminder of just how a really good reporter and editor needs to be on this very volatile subject.
