On the last day they seem to have done something about Watson's ability to press his button faster than humans. The real people got much more chance to respond. |

I read about this while I was abroad recently. Sorry I didn't get a chance to see it. How did they reconcile response time in pressing the button? The computer would seem to have an advantage here. I remember Kasparov accused IBM of cheating when he lost the chess match to 'Deep Blue' back in the 1990's, but this had something to do with human intervention between matches. Did this recent Jeopardy match seem on the up-and-up, so to speak? |

Do they sequester human competitors between games? Back to Jeopardy, I would suggest that they choose randomly between all legal presses in the first 1/10 second. |
