I believe:
* Dates are supposed to be FUN and NOT remind you of job interviews.
* You cannot describe yourself fully within the scope of a one-page web form.
* People are more than the sum of their likes/dislikes lists.
* It's okay to have likes/dislikes lists that don't match perfectly.

It evolves, but currently:
Neil Gaiman
Samuel Beckett
James Tiptree, Jr.
Albert Camus
Philip K. Dick
Virginia Woolf
Audrey Niffenegger

"Do you talk in the middle of [Dexter]? Do you read more than two books a month? Do you get racist or sexist if you've had a few? Is it fine if I make more money than you?" (from "The Quiz" by Hello Saferide -- except they said "Seinfeld" instead of "Dexter". But I don't like Seinfeld, so it's okay if you talk in the middle of that.)

Taking turns going to our favourite places downtown: half an hour here, half an hour there... a chance to enjoy the known but learn about new things at the same time.

My favourite band is Echo & the Bunnymen, and my favourite music tends towards British post-punk, but I like lots of other things too (from Celtic punk to classical music played on the theremin to Edith Piaf, and many points in between).
My film favourites are also all over the place, from Blade Runner to Harry Potter to Werner Herzog's Nosferatu to Up.
