My real passions are the arts, almost always the classical arts but that certainly doesn't mean that if I'm interested in someone I won't go see something more modern with her. Eccentric Geekness: I am hopelessly addicted to Russian opera, classical music (Romantic period, Russians especially), Beaux-Arts architecture, Savile Row sartorial philosophy, Flamenco music, classical literature, sculpture, Victorian dramas, and even bluegrass music and guitar (I play bluegrass guitar... think fast fingers and clever improv, not missing teeth and filthy bare feet). For contrast, I used to play in a death metal band and build lowrider trucks; and I used to collect zombie and horror DVDs (I sold the collection a while ago and now collect period dramas - if you're into zombie movies though I'll know what you're talking about so don't be afraid to write just because I traded in Cannibal Ferox for Sense and Sensibility).

Regarding what I am attracted to in a date, I am extremely romantic and passionate so if you are too that's encouraging. Arts and education are very meaningful to me as well; these two things consume my life, so if you prefer ESPN to a Monet exhibit and would rather watch television than read a book we may bore each other to snores (I don't even own a TV). A healthy lifestyle is important to me, as is ambition, professional aspirations, a worldly perspective on things, and a solid sense of identity. I honor individuality and would never want to own someone or make her into a little mirror of me (or vice versa for that matter). But all that said, when there’s chemistry, oftentimes our ideals just evaporate…
