City and Country

Let's fall in love -- in the City, in the Hudson Valley, on Fire Island, in New England... let's read, talk, listen to the wind, build fires, and dream together.

From classics throughout the ages to contemporary: too many to mention.

Do you sometimes dream of living both in NYC and nearby upstate? I lived in the West Village for many years... miss it. Now I love my historic house slightly upstate, but I go to the City frequently: It's easy-access.

We're comfortable with each other and we feel a compelling, exciting physical, emotional and intellectual chemistry/connection.

Eclectic.
Movies: anything except creepy scary bloody violence. I loved My Dinner With Andre. Mindwalk. Hugo. Jane Austin films. Documentaries. John Adams. Chick flicks and romantic comedies. Yojimbo. Never Cry Wolf. Mary Poppins. Lady and the Tramp. Bringing Up Baby. Amarato. anything with James Stewart or Katherine Hepburn. Charlie Chaplin and Comedy Capers. Once Upon a Time in the West. Music: classical to blues, to folk. Baroque Chamber music. Mozart. Hayden. Bach. Beethoven. Early music. Donovan, The Stones. The Cream. The Beatles. Emmy Lou Harris, Bob Marley, Disney tunes, Tom Waites, Leonard Cohen, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Dionne Warwick, Burt Bacharach, James Brown, Jerry Butler, Simon and Garfunkle, Paul Simon, etc.; anything written and performed by my children. Interesting that these sites never ask about favorite artists, architects or painters/paintings...?

A happy outlook. Two great children who contribute good things to the world. Successful grant writing for environmental agencies and for documentary films. A beautiful home. Good friends. Can paint pretty good watercolor landscapes, play the harmonica and the piano.

Have been a successful activist in saving historic properties and conserving landscapes.... Plan to do more of the same -- and to raise funds for another documentary film that tells an inspiring, important story.

Will tell you later.

Pretty vast and eclectic.
