'Many' and 'varied'. I would also describe my interests as 'enjoyable' and occasionally 'time consuming'.

Immovable Force seeks Irresistible Object

I am a very good guy who is working hard to be a great guy.

Douglas Adams seems a safe choice for this site. The same for H.G. Wells, J.R.R. Tolkien and Arthur C. Clark. Beyond this there is a veritable army of writers that I enjoy from Shakespeare, Kant, and Aristotle to Dostoevsky, Twain, and Hemingway. Favorite recent book? Maybe 'Catch 22'.

Do the following make any sense to you?

"A man is walking along the beach and kicks over a lamp. He rubs the lamp and out pops a genie. The genie says to the man, 'I will grant you three wishes.' The man's responds, 'I wish to be irresistible to women!' to which the genie replies, 'That's funny, that was the same as your first wish.'"

"A well-known scientist (some say it was Bertrand Russell) once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the center of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy. At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.' The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?' 'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down!'"

I generally keep one foot in the real world and one in the nerd world.

I grew up playing all types of games with my friends and family (board, video, sports). There aren't many that I don't enjoy, but I will say that a chute that takes you from 87 to 24 seems excessive.

I like a wide range of music. As for movies, some of my favorites are: Casablanca, Rocky, The Shawshank Redemption, Dr. Strangelove, The Quiet Man, The Princess Bride, Monty Python's Quest for the Holy Grail, Star Wars, The Right Stuff, and The Great Race (for nostalgic reasons).
