Hoping
When I was 19 I dropped out of school at UCSB to move to Nashville and try to be a songwriter. Once I got there and grew up a little I realized I wasn't actually the instant genius I had predicted myself to be. For that reason, and later a lack of confidence, I never did much of anything with my songs. I am a better writer now. Not saying I am great, just better. I spent my last year in Nashville at MTSU as a Philosophy major (yeah I think too much). And then, due to problems with my eyes (long story), I moved back home to the central coast of California. But recently things are getting better and now I am looking forward to moving forward. Where will I go, what will I do...everything is wide open right now. Feel free to message me for the longer version of anything. I will likely put more than the average amount of thought into my response.
I love Douglas Adams, he's my hero. East of Eden blows my mind. Water for Elephants MUST be made into a movie by Tim Burton as soon as he clears up his schedule (actually, imdb.com tells me that the movie is due out by 2011, but it won't tell me who is making it unless I pay some fee). I recently reread Lord of the Flies, and am very glad I did. Mark Haddon, Bill Bryson, J.R.R. Tolkien...

As for music...okay, this is a pretty important category for me. I like country music the best: Garth Brooks, George Strait, Don Williams, Randy Travis, Diamond Rio, Alison Krauss, Gary Allan, Keith Urban, and on and on and on...beyond that I'm also a huge fan of Elton John, The Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, James Galway, Jason Mraz, David Wilcox, Nat King Cole, Jack Johnson, Gordon Lightfoot, Cara Dillon, Chris Gaines, Van Morrison, Jimmy Buffett, Keb' Mo', Andrea Bocelli, Norah Jones, Fiona Apple and even a little Eminem sometimes.
