Complicated Skeptic looking for Best Friend

I just moved to Columbia for work, but have lived here before and enjoy the area. I work in information systems, but have the desire to get a graduate degree in either law or psychology. Yes, I know that sounds quite contradictory, but it's just where my passions are.
I like most music, except country. I prefer modern rock and metal. I play guitar, bass, and drums; although none of them well. :D My favorite bands include Shinedown, Chevelle, Staind, Creed, and Halestorm. I will occasionally listen to rap as well, preferably old school rap like Tupac, early Dre, and early Outkast.
I love dogs. I've been handling and training sport and law enforcement K9's for most of my adult life. My favorite breeds are Rottweilers and Belgian Malinois. I'm currently without a K9, but I have a very good friend in Sweden who will most likely be sending me a very special Rottweiler pup in early 2012. I'm also a big fan of dog rescue and do what I can to help in that arena. For K9 work, it's nice to know where your dog is coming from; but, I also feel obligated to make sure that for every working dog I'm fortunate enough to partner with, that I save many rescues in it's honor.
I have my body type listed as a few extra pounds, and that is exactly what it is. I'm not a lazy and morbidly-obese person that lays around on the couch and watches TV and eats Doritos. I run, play basketball and tennis, and walk religiously. My buddies in the Marine Corps use to tell me I was shaped like a milk box. In an ideal world, it wouldn't matter; but let us face it, we all have an idea of what we want and try to find someone as close to that ideal match as possible. I have a picture on here, you're welcome to see it if you're interested in talking to me. I felt it was in my best interests not to display it publicly for employment purposes. I'm not horribly picky about looks, but I would like to meet someone who can join me in my aforementioned activities. So if you are a runner, tennis or basketball player, or love music, then we should really talk.

A small restaurant, good food and great ambiance, lots of conversation. A first date should be an opportunity to get to know someone.
