I was a history major before law school, and always a voracious reader, so those two things have remained my mainstays. I'll listen to almost any kind of music, and love all kinds of movies.

The Nicest Guy You Never Met

My name is Dan, and I am a criminal lawyer but please don't hold that against me! I am somewhat new to this internet based way of meeting people, but many of my friends have had success, so I finally broke down and decided to give it a shot. It's very hard to meet really nice, normal people. My bar / clubbing days are long over, and I'm hoping to meet that special someone.
I was born in Europe, and came to Canada when I was two, but was raised in a very European household. I've always been interested in history and other cultures.
I love my job, and wouldn't do anything else, even though there are times when it's incredibly stressful. Every day is a new adventure, everyone has a story to tell.
I think my sense of humour is my greatest attribute. I love to laugh and make people around me laugh. If I can make you smile once and make your day better, I've done my job! :) I think I can see the humour in any situation. And with this job, I need a sense of humour!
I'm a good-hearted, truly nice person. I still believe that chivalry is not dead, was raised to always be a gentleman, and refuse to believe romance is a thing of the past. I enjoy a glass of good red wine now and again. I am a hockey fan (Go Flyers!), as well as soccer (I'm European, it's genetic). I like to think I'm comfortable in any situation, from sitting in a pub chatting, to discussing world issues at a dinner party, to just talking about life's mysteries over a candlit dinner.
Words to live by:
Live every day as if it were your last..one day you'll be right!
Dan's Law: Murphy was an optimist.
The Golden Rule: Do unto others, then run..
Ok, I've babbled enough. If you think I'm somewhat interesting or mildly entertaining, please drop me a note. If not, I wish you the best of luck in finding your special someone.

For fiction, have to go with Stephen King, some Anne Rice as well; plus virtually anyone who writes historical works.

Just one?? Oh..guess that was it..

I don't think there is an ideal first date in terms of doing x, y, or z. The ideal ending is one where we can't wait for the second date..

Lots! Xbox 360, PS3, PC games, historical boardgames, Euro games, and good old fashioned Monolpoly (aka 3 dead beats and a slum lord).

In terms of movies, anything from Citizen Kane / Sunset Boulevard to The Seventh Seal to Aliens and Arnie..
With music, will listen to whatever catches my fancy at that moment, although do prefer music from back home..
