Writing non-fiction, neuropsychological research, reading (especially historical fiction and scifi), Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek, karaoke, Republican Rome, the Julio-Claudian Dynasty, Tudor England, evolutionary psychology, urban sociology, psychopathology, costumes. Achievements - voluntarily leaving a certain pompous Ivy League university before losing it completely is something I'm quite proud of.

Trekkie Freelance Writer with a Wild Side

I'm a freelance non-fiction writer who is seeking relief from the United States for several months. I am teaching myself to program so that perhaps I can apply for a work visa after I return, allowing me to stay longer. I have a background in psychiatric and neuropsychological research, but I've decided to switch career paths from that of researcher to science writer. Since I'm new to freelance writing, I take assignments on any topic I can get, though. While made quite aware of my nerdiness in middle school, I'm also into superficial things. Makeup and clothes, for example. Also, I'm not a woman anyone would think shy about anything.

Elizabeth Hughes-Belzil, Ryan Coyle, Kurt Vonnegut, Mark Twain, Richard Dawkins, Margaret Atwood, Issac Asimov, Ray Bradbury, Allen Ginsberg, Friedrich Engels, the entire writing team behind Battlestar Galactica, Paulo Coehlo, Noam Chomsky, Isabel Allende, Madeline L'Engel, Edith Wharton, A.N. Roquelaure, Will Durant, Plato, Phllippa Gregory (I know), Alastair Reynolds, Jack Kerouac, Colleen McCullough, Ursula Le Guin, Orson Scott Card, James McPherson, Sarah Dunant, Philip K. Dick, Khaled Hosseini, Larry Niven, Sylvia Plath.
