I am currently in college, hoping to major in either Literature or Creative Writing while also getting a teacher liscensure for grades 6-12, as I am not sure whether I want to teach middle or high school. But I do know I love English and want to be a teacher. So much so that I accepted a scholarship offered in North Carolina for students wanting to become teachers. The basic concept of the scholarship is that the state will pay 26,000 for us to go to school for four years (6,500 a year) as long as we teach in the state of North Carolina for four years, in essence, paying off the scholarship. If a student goes through the program and then decides not to teach, they will have to repay the scholarship with interest. So basically, I'm bound to the state of North Carolina. For at least the next seven years. Although I might persue my masters and then begin teaching my four years, so it could me eight or nine years. I’m really good at: Empathizing with others. Seeing all sides of a situation. Writing poetry. Seeing beyond the superficiality of a situation.
