I love studying history, culture, mythology, literature, religion or anything else that celebrates the human condition. I'm an avid reader and writer. I am not very scientifically inclined, though I love animals and learning about the world we live in. I try my hardest to learn everything I can about anything and am constantly consulting google for the oddest details.

Hopeful Romantic Looking for Another

I do not like writing about myself, because I'm never sure what to write, and as writer, I resent being placed in such a position. I will say, though, that I am honest and open-book, and if there is anything you want to know about me, please ask.

Here are few from my bookshelf: Jonathan Safron Foer, Richard Price, JRR Tolkien, Allen Moore, Neil Gaiman, Kurt Vonnegut, Milan Kundera, Mary Shelley, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Anthony Burgess, Jeffrey Eugenides, Chuck Palahniuk Anne Lamott, William T. Vollmann, C.S. Lewis, Jorge Luis Borges, Arthur Nersessian, Lewis Carroll, Frank L. Baum, J.K. Rowling, Elie Wiesel, Huber Selby Jr, Mark Z. Danielewski, Haruki Murakami.

How am I looking so far?

The first date is about conversation. I love movies, but rather have dinner or do something that compliments good conversation. I'm not a very materialist person, and as student and participant of these difficult times, I understand the necessity of frugality, and would rather the date be creative than expensive. I just want to have a good time and get to know the person I am with.

I love word and trivia games, card games, video games, WOW, and have even played Magick on occasion (I know, geek! hehe). I'm also eagerly awaiting Sims 3....
I DO NOT play head games, heart games, or any other games where people lose their dignity or faith in humanity. I'm a very honest person and do not manipulate others.

My iTunes library is the cannibalized version of libraries belonging to friends and family, and as such is a mecca for classical, punk, metal, ska, opera, techno, alternative, industrial and the occasional embarrassing musical (how did that get there?)
I was a film student for three years, so I watch allot of movies and have a long list of favorites. I don't like vapid romantic comedies, A.K.A. the stereotypical chick flick. I do cling to the person beside me in horror films (whether I know them or not, incidentally NOT a good way to meet people), and I try my hardest not to figure out the twist because I would rather be surprised than outsmart. I don't believe that the only good movies out there are independent or foreign, because I have seen many bad examples of both. If you want to talk movies, I will not disappoint :)
