You won’t find me talking much about cars or sports… I’m more interested in stuff like the arts or philosophy. I’m a genuinely sensitive guy, and I wish the women at work would quit teasing me about being one of the girls. Come to think of it, I don’t really have a lot of body hair. Hmm, this isn’t reading very masculine, is it? But I did get the “hairy ear” gene from my dad… although that’s probably not something I should have shared. Oh, how about this… I come with my own tools and I’m great with plumbing, electricity, drywall, carpentry, and... gardening (yeah, yeah... leaning away from the masculine again). I also love theatre, and am a somewhat accomplished amateur actor, director, and writer.

Where ya at?

Enough about me. Let's talk about you.
You are someone I can giggle like a kid with, who I really like to look at, who just plain enjoys my company.
You’re a woman who can lead me to new places in literature, or show me how to weave a tapestry, or who finds it perfectly alright to spend a day in bed every so often making love over and over again.
You’re someone who can do for yourself, but who doesn’t shut anyone out who is moved to help you.
You like being feminine… feeling good about standing out in ways that men can’t.
You are someone who likes to talk about ideas rather than people.
You’re not looking for a man to complete you or to help you achieve your goals and dreams.
You like yourself, and you’re interested in me *only* because of who I am… right here, right now... not in what I might become someday.

I do read the classics sometimes, and can appreciate anything from Aeschylus, through Machiavelli, to Virgil... but I prefer to be entertained when I read. I still like Grisham, and am now reading Edith Pargeter's The Brothers of Gwynedd (four books set in Wales at the time of the Plantagenets), and I've got Dan Brown's Digital Fortress in the wings.

What is your concept of an ideal relationship?

First meeting? A beverage or two, somewhere either of us can easily find an excuse to leave if it's not working. : )
First date... dinner, a walk maybe in the park, woods, or along the beach. Easy, comfortable conversation sprinkled with polite banter and laughter. Maybe we'll go dancing later, or do something spontaneous like stage a peace rally, or swing naked through the trees!

I enjoy classic board or card games... especially word games (except Scrabble... too many crap "words" are allowed), and can be easily coaxed into things like volleyball, badminton, ping pong, or pool. I do have a favourite computer game that is pretty much archaic now, but it still entertains me.

A good movie impresses me in the moment, but the feeling doesn't seem to stick. Like everyone else, I tend to like groundbreakers... adventures that are starkly different than anything that's gone before: Jaws, Juraissic Park, Star Wars, The Matrix. My taste in music is all over the map. I guess my favourites are Traditional International, what we call Classical, Old Rock and New Age.
