My favorite quote, by Albert Einstein, describes me as well as anything could: "I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious."

I'm a Senior in college, studying the Studio Arts. I head to Grad School Fall 2011, where I'll pursue 2 simultaneous MFAs in Ceramics and Art History, followed by becoming a College Art Professor and pursuing a PhD. in Art History. I am pursing these degrees 1) because I sincerely enjoy these areas, and 2) those degrees = job security, health benefits, and a good paycheck on which to support my family.

I have a passion for life, learning, having good friends, challenges, mental puzzles, and good food. I enjoy reading - mostly fiction and ancient art history. I enjoy being outdoors, cooking & baking, being around animals and children, and photography. I would describe myself as a bit old fashioned, open-minded, responsible, creative, caring, very honest, and having strong moral fiber. I look forward to traveling the world, and I strive to learn and do something new every day. I also try to stay very healthy, and be responsible about what I put on and in my body. I have no piercings, no tattoos, and no future plans to get either one.

I'm pretty serious about school and my work. Coffee, fresh fruits and veggies, and hanging with my dog Sookie make me happy, plus going to museums and plays and things of that nature, and just in general being around people that enjoy life and the beauty of it. If you can't enjoy the simple things, like walking in the park, playing a board game, having a glass of wine in a porch swing...well, I'm not the girl for you. I'm also not glued to a computer every hour of the day - I enjoy living in the real world, with real people, and I have a hard time connecting with computer/cellphone/technology addicts.

"I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." - A. Einstein
Well, I'm very energetic and passionate person. I'm devoted to being a good artist, a good student, and a dedicated scholar. My friends would say that I'm honest (to a fault), loyal, morally sound, punctual, and driven. I enjoy respectful and intelligent conversations and discussions on any topic. I also enjoy being outside, taking in some sunshine. My friends say I'm 22 going on 40, but I've always been mature for my age. There's nothing wrong with having an old soul or being old-fashioned

Oh, where to start? Books and music are similar to me, in that it's not about the author, it's about the lyrics, the story, and how it pulls me in. I've been known to read several books by one author, and only like one or two of them. I like reading, period, but If I have to name-drop...let's see...J.D. Robb, Dean Koontz (not a huge fan of his earliest works, though) Frederick Douglass (most powerful speaker that ever lived, in my opinion), Dante, Dickinson, Bronte, Shakespeare (Hamlet primarily), Micheal Crichton, Dave Barry (yes, the columnist). As far as specific books, I enjoy The Lord of the Flies, Heart of Darkness, The Iliad (& what I've read of the Odyssey,) and Hannibal. I'm sure there are more, but who can remember everything?

Would you rather stroll through the park, discussing the insights gained from whatever you've just watched, read, learned about in class (should you still be in school) or stay in to watch whatever TV/reality show you're hooked on this week?

If you answer is the reality show, I'm not the one for you.

A first date? Something that might work would be visiting an art gallery, a zoo, a coffee shop, a museum, maybe downtown Hot Springs if you live north of me - I'm open-minded. I like to go somewhere public but peaceful, so we can talk. Somewhere where we can learn about each other. If all goes well, we can move on to dinner somewhere else. Maybe after, a walk in a local park or through downtown? I'm super-flexible, just throwing out ideas really, but I prefer that first dates to be mellow and as stress-free as possible.

Games? Hmmm. I like old-school games, like Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Battleship, Risk, things like that. I also think mini-golf is underrated. I also play some DDR, but for the exercise benefits - burning calories doesn't have to be boring or hard. And I'll admit, I play Spore (when I have time) and I love it. Don't judge.

Music is a huge part of my life - it sets my mood, and often gets me through the day. My tastes are pretty eclectic, but tend to sway towards mellow 'oldies'. My top three bands are The Eagles, Matchbox 20, and Maroon 5. My top singers are Marvin Gaye, Jason Mraz, Aretha Franklin, and Rob Thomas. I also really enjoy Journey, The Beatles, The Blues Travelers, Chaka Khan, Patrice Pike, Red Hott Chili Peppers, Coldplay, and so many others.

I'm also a bit of a movie buff, but I like older movies - Ar senic & Old Lace, Hello Dolly, The Maltese Falcon, The King and I, all the original Disney Classics... I also like many new movies, like The Boondock Saints (the first one, the second one was terrible) Repo! The Genetic Opera, RENT, The Shawshank Redemption, Avatar, Shrek, Hellboy, all the old Batman Movies, and even a few chick flicks like You've Got Mail, The 1st Wives Club, What Women Want...What I don't like are all these idiotic cookie-cutter comedies that are simply moron humor.
