I love to cook and travel. Of course, part of the joy of travel is eating all the wonderful food to be found. My favorite types of food are Korean, Chinese, Thai, and East Indian. I am an active person and enjoy running, biking, skiing, hiking and walking. I also like cozying up with a good book (fiction, mostly, but also histories and political analysis). I have many other interests, but will save those for a conversation over a cup of coffee or via an email exchange.

What makes me tick? Spending time with my kids, being able to share experiences with someone I love, feeling appreciated, holding hands, having enough in common with someone to feel connected but having enough differences to make things interesting.

My first love was John Steinbeck. More recently I've enjoyed Ian McEwan, Ron Hansen, Alice Munro, Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, Rolf Potts.

What is your most memorable dream and why?

Some quiet and low-key. Maybe a small coffee shop where we can chat, or a short walk by a lake or river. Nothing too extravagant. Just a relaxing opportunity to see if there is a connection and we want to have more dates after that.

I love almost any card or board game. I enjoy playing softball and volleyball, as well as tennis.

I like German films, adventure, British films, Hitchcock, old movies (Casablanca, Afr Queen and It Happened One Night are favorites). Just about anything except slasher/horror movies.

For music, I love contemporary folk. You'll find almost every musical style except for hip-hop and rap on my shelf.
