I'm a vegetarian. I like to read, a lot. I am tied to my computer. I take multi-tasking to the extreme. I love my cat more than anyone can really comprehend. I enjoy philosophy, but I am not a huge fan of formulaic logic. I am wary of deconstruction and postmodernism. I adore existentialist literature and philosophy. Metafiction turns me on.

My name's Alyssia, most people seem to have a problem with pronouncing it so I go by Lys a lot. I have just completed the coursework for my PhD and passed the first of my preliminary exams and the oral qualifier. I'm now studying for the second one. I "do" Philosophy and Literature and I hope to teach someday.

I love fantasy, I love existential literature, and I love to read. I own tons of books on my Kindle, plus I have 9 bookshelves full in print. I am trying to weed that collection currently, but it is so hard!
Right now I am very fond of Luce Irigary, that's my newest author of note.
I'm a total geek and I play role-playing games. Like, frequently. It's actually sometimes the highlight of my week. I write character histories that are over 20 pages long. I create online forums for the games I am running. I get way-too-into-it. (Not in a creepy, murderous kind of way though...)
So, I love White Wolf. D&D has nothing on White Wolf and I will argue that til my dying day.
I also LOVE word games! Scrabble, Boggle, Apples to Apples, etc.
Other personal favorites: Imaginiff and good old Monopoly.
And really, almost any game in the world. I love games.
