I am passionate about singing. I also enjoy dancing and acting. I was pursuing a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology back in the late 90's, but then decided to pursue my dreams and make the big switch to singing and musical theatre. I love music- I dont know exactly how to explain it without sounding cliche, but for me when I really connect to a song or a piece of music it's like a spiritual experience; it's a 'safe place' to fall- a place that feeds my soul and helps me express my deepest emotions, thoughts and desires.
I also really enjoy watching movies- again in a variety of genres. I am an aspiring writer, and foresee writing at least one book over the next 1-2 years. I am also in the beginning stages of creating a program for children/teens incorporating spirituality (non-religious), philosophy, and psychology/personal development work.
I love animals, and volunteered for 4 yrs at the Merrimack Valley Feline Rescue, when I lived in MA. I hope to open a cat shelter or boarding house at some point in my life. In the past I have also volunteered for the Women's Rape Crisis Center, The American Cancer Society (while living in VT), and a number of other organizations at different times throughout my life.
I am into being active/athletic and enjoy kayaking, jogging, swimming, racquetball, lifting weights, to name a few. I love being out in nature, going for walks, hikes, playing, spending some quiet time in contemplation while outside.
I enjoy travelling, seeing new places, trying new foods, having new experiences/adventures, expanding my horizons, exploring human nature.
I am very interested in personal development work, energy healing work, and things of a metaphysical nature. I believe that energy healing work and writing will be a big part of the new life I am embarking on.
On the side, I enjoy cake decorating and gardening. I recently started learning TaiChi and Braille transcription. I am also looking forward to trying indoor rock climbing in the coming months.

Looking for a very open-minded, deeply compassionate, fun-loving, spiritual man to walk beside me on this journey

Hi there! Let me tell introduce myself and share what I think I have to offer a potential partner.
I feel am a very compassionate, sensitive and perceptive person. I am intelligent, highly ambitious and a hard worker. I am very open-minded, tolerant and accepting of others, their experiences, beliefs, etc. I am increasingly spiritual. I can be quirky and kind of sassy. I am a big supporter of self expression. I have a great interest in learning, a highly curious nature about life and the universe. I'm down to earth and grounded, yet I've also been described as 'bubbly.' I am also highly creative and I have a very good sense of humor. I can be quite silly and I really enjoy going out and having a good time. (I graduated from ImprovBoston and took additional classes at Upright Citizen's Brigade- so really, I do enjoy being a goofball). I dont require the spotlight, but I also dont require falling into the background. In additon to the above, I can offer open-mindedness, empathy, generosity, patience, and a caring spirit.
Some strengths include my interest in expanding my knowledge and awareness, finding new adventures and unique experiences, communicating my innermost thoughts and feelings, as well as communicating in an open and healthy way, in terms of conflict resolution. I also enjoy spending time in discussion & conversation about a wide variety of topics- ranging from silly and light to deep, reflective and introspective.
I really enjoy meeting & communicating with people who are open-minded, accepting, curious, fun-loving and supportive. I also really appreciate meeting people who strive to find balance in their lives. Additionally, I greatly value open-mindedness, acceptance, compassion, and an affectionate, kind and fun loving nature. I welcome romance, passion, making a real connection. I want to get to know the real you, the person behind the facade. I’m looking for someone who is very open minded & curious when it comes to spirituality, God, the Universe, miracles, energy healing, etc. Someone who enjoys quiet time, but who also enjoys talking about the world, life, philosophy, spirituality, etc. Someone who can appreciate exploring the serious side of life, while also appreciating, and revelling in, the sillier side-which hopefully includes lots of play, laughter and fun. I would really like to meet someone who truly likes and respects women. I'm also hoping to meet someone who knows the difference b/w being spontaneous and being rude/disrespectful.These qualities I am looking for in a partner, I strive to be in life as well.
I can also offer an altruisitic spirit. I strive to be an advocate for those who aren't allowed, or able, to have a voice, for those who are oppressed or rejected for living/thinking 'outside the box,' & for people looking to discover, and tap into, their unlimited potential.I'm also passionate about achieving the life & career goals I have set for myself.
I'm affectionate, romantic and looking to meet that special partner I can create a deep intimate connection with on multiple levels. I can create, for my potential partner, a safe place for them to share their greatest hopes, dreams, fears, deepest emotions and thoughts, experiences and desires if they are willing to trust me, willing to connect and 'go there' with me and willing to provide the same in return. I'm looking to find that person who would like to walk beside me as we move along our life journeys together. It is my hope that we can help each other achieve our greatest dreams.

There are so many options for a first date. I think the best would be to meet in a public place which is more relaxed and also allows for time to talk so you can get to know each other. Perhaps meeting to participate in an activity together, such as kayaking, going for a walk on the boardwalk or at the beach or a botanical garden/arboretum. Museums, art exhibits, aquariums, zoos, historic landmarks, comedy clubs etc would also be viable options, in my opinion. If we have been in contact for a decent amount of time, and can tell we already click a bit, then a dinner date would be just fine as well.
