Hi, I just moved to beautiful Colorado Springs, and I'm loving exploring the mountains in my free time! I'm a freelance cartographer and technical writer, and a major science geek. I've always been passionate about science, nature, and the environment.

I'm looking forward to meeting like-minded, nature-loving and/or intellectually curious people.

I do have a quiet side and like to spend time outdoors hiking, exploring or reading, though I can be the extrovert once I get to know you. I'm a proud pop science geek and enjoy reading about biology, physics, philosophy, and history.

I also enjoy trying out new recipes, listening to blues and folk music, drawing and travel. While I enjoy philosophical discussion I have an equally playful side. I am often attracted to the absent-minded professor type.

I enjoy hiking, reading, drawing, painting, cooking, exercise, travel, visiting museums, listening to music, and generally spending time outdoors.

Science and Nature Lover

Hi, I'm a freelance librarian, researcher and writer looking forward to meeting like-minded, intellectually curious folks. I've been a science librarian for the past several years, but finally took the plunge into full-time freelance research and writing. I'm focusing on growing my business and making a go of it at this point.

While the city has its attractions, I'm a nature girl at heart and love to be outdoors hiking, exploring or reading. I'm a pop science geek and love to read about evolution, biology, natural history, and physics, as well as history, philosophy, and historical fiction. NOVA and Nova scienceNOW are a couple favorite shows. I'm also becoming a history aficionado.

I also like trying out new recipes, listening to blues and folk music, drawing and travel. While I enjoy philosophical discussion I have an equally playful side. I am often attracted to the absent-minded professor type.

Seeking an intelligent guy with a sense of humor, sense of wonder, and adventurous and curious spirit. Appreciation for the natural/non-human world is a plus!

Annie Dillard, E.O. Wilson, Stephen Jay Gould, Loren Eiseley, Brian Greene, Carl Sagan, Bill McKibben, Bertrand Russell, Ed Abbey, James Michener, Julian Barnes, and Gore Vidal are some favorites.

What are you passionate about?

Movies: Contact, Instinct, The Revenant, anything Star Trek and The Shawshank Redemption.

I mostly listen to folk and blues music. Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, World Party, Mason Jennings, Willy Mason, Jonanatha Brooke, Ray Lamontagne, Richard Thompson, Dar Williams, Mike Doughty, Indigenous, Freddie King, Otis Rush, Tab Benoit and Taj Mahal are some favorites.

I interviewed a NASA scientist for an article last summer, which was pretty awesome. I've also presented at conferences in Istanbul and London, and have been published by ASME.

I write about sustainability, green energy, smart cities, and new technologies, hopefully bringing issues and solutions to the public's attention. I'm hoping to branch out into nonprofit grant writing.

I've also volunteered doing mapping for land trusts and other environmental organizations, and I worked for EPA for about 6 years.
