I'm a computer programmer by trade. I tend to have a knack for math and physics. I really like Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Veronica Mars, and other well-written shows. I'm into game design, both for video games and for tabletop games. Sometimes I dabble in music; I played violin in high school, and I can play just a little bit of guitar and piano. For a while I went through a music composition phase.

I'm trying to pick up indoor rock climbing as my sport. I realized at one point in time that really attractive people typically exercise a lot (big shocker), and I figured the way to do that myself would be to find a sport that I liked and could have goals for. So... I'm trying indoor rock climbing.

This is a nice distraction.

Hey, I thought this site seemed like a good idea, since one of the most essential things I look for in a girlfriend is intelligence. Not, like, "why are people so stupid?" intelligence (I hate it when people say that), but someone with interests I can relate to.

Common interests really help, but values are important, too. I saw this John Cusack movie one time where he said, on the subject of dating, "It's not what you're like; it's what you like." I think he's wrong (or his character was wrong... you get the idea). I really care about whether the person I'm dating is honest. I cannot stand lying, cheating, taking advantage of people, etc.

I don't know much about dating, but in general, I think it's nice if we can hang out and do things that are relevant to one or both of us. I would love to cuddle up with someone and watch a DVD we both like. Going to the movies is fun. Hanging out with friends is fun. Playing through something like Super Mario Bros. Wii together would be fun. I'd also really like to make out with someone in a parked car with good music playing on the stereo. Working out together would be good, as would rock climbing together. Also sometimes it's nice to just goof off and do nothing.
