I love life.

I love life. I love serious conversations, but also laughing and being playful. I love hiking, walking, swimming in the N. Saskatchewan or other open waters, snorkling, dancing, doing art, teaching, writing, and exploring the world.

I have lived in different cultures - Scotland, Canada, India, Brazil, California and Georgia in the US, and recently returned to my home, Canada. This and studying anthropology and religion have probably influenced me the most in my life. My marriage of 33 years and four children are also huge influences.

I am grateful for family - my sisters, and children, but also extended family. I am also grateful for so many opportunities in my life so far - living and in different cultures, climbing Kilimanjaro, good friendships, and especially opportunities for study and learning.

I am recovering from fibromyalgia, and have limited energy at times, but still find much to make me smile, like watching my daughters dance on Youtube, kind acts, and getting to know people. I often laugh at my own failings, like hearing the microwave timer go off in the middle of an evening dinner with friends, then going to look in the fridge before realizing my mistake.

I am very happy living on my own in a multicultural neighborhood in Edmonton, but I am also interested in developing friendships and perhaps more in the long run. I would like to meet several different kinds of people, but look especially for men who are thoughtful, articulate, interested in always learning and exploring, and know how to relax and enjoy life.

My ideas of an ideal relationship include mutual respect, thoughtfulness and kindness, exploring, mystery, and contributing to the world together, fun and relaxation.
