I am a high school English teacher, a job that I really enjoy. My students always guess my age to be 5 to 10 years younger than I am. They think that I am "cool". I love to travel. My favorite place to go is anywhere in the Caribbean, epecially Jamaica. I work out two days a week to keep in shape. I like to read, enjoy going to the beach, and various hobbies. I listen to NPR, can totally rock out with Led Zepplin, or will happily settle into a good novel for hours. So I guess like most people, I'm complicated and multi-faceted. I would be most interested in someone who may not necessarily have the same interests as I do, but like myself, is not easy to confine to a specific category. I may sound quiet, but you would find that I have a personality with quite a few surprises.
I have three of my four children still living at home with me. They are all pretty independent teenagers, but I stay busy trying to rule the roost. I feel, after spending the last five years focusing primarily on them and my job, that there is finally room in my life now for someone else. Besides, the kids think that Mom should start dating and I agree. I'm not up for jumping into a full blown relationship right away, but would enjoy getting to know someone over time and if the stars aren't crossed, then perhaps fate will lead us to the next level. I'm not looking to grow old alone...just sayin.
I love a guy with a sense of humor, that is one of the characteristics that I prize the most. I also need a man who is intelligent, not necessarily with a formal education, but someone who is witty, wise and in touch with the world around him. I'm looking for other quiet rebels like me. Are you out there?
