I like books on music and spirituality, and preferably both at the same time:
Taking Woodstock by Elliot Tiber. An amazing gay memoir about a man who survived the gay sex scene in the 50s and 60s and then ran smack dab into the mind-expanding counterculture of 1969 through his inadvertent role in bringing the WOODSTOCK rock festival to fruition. A MUST-READ!
In Heaven Everything is Fine: The Unsolved Life of Peter Ivers and the Lost History of New Wave Theatre by Josh Frank, Charlie Buckholtz.
Bright-sided: How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America' By Barbara Ehrenreich
Birth Of The Cool: Beat, Bebop, and the American Avant Garde (Hardcover) by Lewis MacAdams
It's Here Now (Are You?) by Bhagavan Das
Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy

Isn't asking a question to a brainiac really asking for it? Better to shut up and turn up the music! Or just keep them kissing so they discover another part of their brain :)

"You're looking
For me in the demonstration
Well I have already lost patience
You might find me sitting by
On the pavement
Or maybe not cause I have shrunk
I fell in love with a punk
And she took my breath
Now there's nothing left...
...But love enough to feed a family
Well I just want to feed Emily
With lukewarm English beer
And vegan pancakes
I saw her in the anti-war demonstration
It was a sweet sensation of love"
-- Jens Lekman, I Met Her at the Anti-war Demonstration
